IT IS TIME FOR A REVOLUTION!!! THE SLACKING STOPS NOW!!!
I'm officially in the worst shape I've probably been in years. In the past, I might not have always exercised, but I at least attempted and pretended to eat healthy. But these last six months I've eaten whatever, whenever and how ever much I pleased. When I eat junk, I just feel sluggish and gross. And currently I feel extra sluggish and gross. Especially after spending the weekend away from home and having to eat out for every meal, I actually miss vegetables and foods with out sauces!!
I have plans this evening, but my bag is already packed for a run tomorrow. Twenty six miles is a really long effin' way no matter what, but it's going to be a million times worse if I'm not trained.

well, you know the best of anyone how in shape you are, but I have to disagree anyway! You ran a half marathon last month. You ran a 10-miler this month. You may not have been as dedicated as you were over the winter but it seems like you've just had maybe a slow month or two. you seemed pretty dedicated to the biggest loser thing for a while there! the weekend of restaurant food probably made you feel super ugg but don't beat yourself up too much!
ReplyDeletebut you're right, it's time for perestroika! I was thinking that yesterday, I've been totally useless since the 10-miler. I ran this morning! and I plan to run at least 3 mornings this week, Mayyyybeeee 4. we'll see.
we'll do our 4 miles on Sunday and be back on a roll.
You're probably right that I just feel extra gross because of the travel. And two months ago, I ran the half and it wasn't that bad, I felt good and strong. The last couple times I've been out though, I've struggled with three miles. It's so discouraging how quickly you lose it!! Hopefully, it comes back fairly easily!
ReplyDeleteThe last couple times I've been out I've also struggled with 3 miles! I'm pretty sure I didn't do 3 miles this morning, it was probably like 2.5 miles, and it was hard. I'm hoping it'll get a bit easier if I can get out a few mornings this week. it is scary how fast you lose your conditioning - hopefully scary enough that it'll keep us motivated to keep up with it!
ReplyDeleteI understand! My first leg on the relay was only 4.5 miles ranked "easy" and i was struuuggling. Even besides my funky strained leg problem, i could feel my muscles sucking at mounting the wimpiest of hills. It's discouraging! I really feel pretty crappy that the 2 races I was really looking forward to this spring did not go as well as I would've hoped.
ReplyDeleteBUTT. that will just motivate me to rock the marathon! i watched most of "run fatboy run" last night and that was pretty inspiring. :)
Oh! and i ran in my new shooz and they felt awesome, so that was good! only one teeny blister on my heel during my last couple miles. w00t.
