I changed it up a little

So I was just telling Elizabeth, I changed the schedule for myself a little - today I ran 11 miles (OWWW IT WAS HARD) and I'm not planning to run tomorrow - since I have to work that movie in Bethesda tonight, I'm prob not going to be up for getting up rill early tomorrow to run, and also I have a lot of baking to do before the par-tee (btw Eliz! I forgot to ask, do you mind giving me & zp a ride?).. Also I'm concerned I won't get my long run in next weekend in Maine, so I went for it this weekend.

Sooo yeah. that's what's up. My "weekly progress" thing in logyourrun.com is definitely showing a bunch of those red bars saying I'm breaking the 10% rule! I can't help it! I'm not even making the mileage I'm supposed to, according to the schedule.. last couple weeks I've only managed to get 2 runs in during the week instead of 3..

Anyway how did the track thing go this morning Eliz? How was the gym yesterday AmbER? mmkay gotta go get ready for WORK. on a SATURDAY. >:-[

see you guys at Sara's tomorrow :)

  1. 11!!! Good job! Did you do Mt Vernon after all?

On the track, I was dyyyyyyyyyying. I think I only did 4.5m or so total. I wanted to jog 1 mile to warm up, run 4 miles at "pace" then jog 1 more to cool down. Annnnd it didn't really happen, I did the jog and then I think i only really ran 3 miles, maybe 3.5. Greg lapped me 3 times(ugh) and was timing me with his watch and noticed i just couldn't keep up the pace, so suggested I just do 1 more lap as fast as I could and then take it easy. And I was looking for a way out, so i did it. Blah. I never thought I'd say this, but i can't wait for summer to be over! This heat is keelllling me. It's so frustrating that I can't run as fast as I was doing this spring, even with the shin splint pain I had then. The only encouraging thing is that I can still go decently fast on the treadmill, so I think I'm gonna try to do 1 run a week at the gym. Just for my dwindling confidence's sake!

I'm gonna try to do 8 miles tomorrow. As usual, I'd love any company! (*poke* Amber) Next weekend poses a question though, cause I'm racing the 12 mile long run (*poke* Amber, do the 10k!) and I'm not sure if I should try to take it easy the day before... I might try to do the pace/tempo/whatever run on Friday.

Anyway, I'm at work, cause I didn't do anything yesterday after my Chipotle attack, so I should prob stop wasting my Saturday like this! See y'all at Sara's! I'll fer sure come git you n Zeep, R!

  2. yep, went to mt. vernon. I was surprised how quickly I got overheated considering I was in the shade a lot of the time. I can't believe how muggy it can be at 7:30 in the morning. should be illegal. anyway it was. really hard. like really really. I took walk breaks whenever I decided it was time for another "GU Chomp" (orange flayvurr, actually pretty good), and then by the time I got to mile 9 I had to start taking a 2-min walk break after every mile. Well I took a walk break at 8 to eat a chomp, and then at 9 I just needed the walk break, and then at 10 my 2-min walk break turned into walking the rest of the way. I thought I'd try to run a Little for the last mile but I was literally seeing spots and had about an ounce of water left so I figured I shouldn't push it.

sooo yeah. feelin' you on the can't-wait-for-summer-to-end thang.

also what the eff am I doing up right now? I got home at like 12:35 from the bethesda movie thing.. I should go to bed!!
