Yo, Amber. Since you set up our lovely MCM training schedule last year, can you give me any advice for making one for myself? I looked through Hal Higdon's, but I thought I remembered you saying there were a couple sites that you found helpful.... Could you pass any along?
O my gooses. I have a lot of time on my hands lately so please excuse the word vomit:
ReplyDeleteI want to do a triathlon, but I’ve been putzing around for the last month not really following a plan. Run, swim, bike, repeat and rest day.
But I did hand write one that starts March 8th and took this training plan:
http://www.trinewbies.com/tno_trainingprograms/10wtp.pdf
and combined it with the marathon base building program from this page. (Which has lots of good info)

It’s an 18 week program and ends June 27th. Which is 18 weeks out from MCM.
For MCM I’ll probably do Hal Higdon’s Intermediate I

and just fit in swimming and biking on the rest and cross days.
I like HH better than the plans on:
www.runnersworld.com and www.coolrunning.com
I was toying with the idea of doing the Pfitz 18/55 plan, but I think that’s too much running for me right now. Maybe next year. He doesn’t post his plan online, you have to get his book: Advanced Marathon Training by Pete Pfizinger. I did find a copy of it online and it gives you an idea
