I just went through a bunch of my past race results and posted them in my logyourrun.com account, and marked them as Events so they go into My Accomplishments so I can look at all my race results on one page. It's really cool to see all those races and how well I did! Well, how well in some, how not so well in others.. I'm sure I didn't even put all the races I've done over the past couple years, but I've got several 5Ks and a couple 10Ks and the marathon and the 10-miler - and I feel accomplished! :) and I feel motivated to beat some of those times!
just thought I'd share. :)
I think I should be able to follow the Running doc exactly this week (except the cross training today. Probably won't do that). Do you guys want to try to run together this weekend? I'd be up for running with you guys either or both days this weekend. For one of them I was thinking of taking a bus to Rosslyn and running down the Mt Vernon trail.. For the other I haven't decided.

aww man I just realized my trip to Maine is really going to eff up my training schedule. no way I'm going to have time to run 12 miles in the morning before I head back to DC, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to want to get out in the evening heat when we get home.. SIGH. mayyybeee it'll be cool enough out that I can do my run when I get home that day.. goodness knows I'll prob want to stretch my legs after being on the train all day...
ReplyDeletesorryyy I keep blabbing today but - I'm confused! I clicked on the link for "week 8" (this week) and it says the long run this week is 13 miles! but on the running doc, it says 6 miles Saturday, 7 miles Sunday. So 13 total but not all at once. What's that about?
ReplyDeleteoh wait durrr I remember now Amber said she combined a couple training programs to make this one. nevermind! thank goodness you changed it amBER, no way I could run 13 miles this weekend! 6 and 7 separately will be hard enough.
ReplyDeleteSo, this weekend we're supposed to do 2 long(ish) runs? Soundz harrrrrd! BLAH
ReplyDeleteI dunno 'bout you guys, but i am still way tired from Sunday... biking to work today was keeeelling me! i was going soo slooowww.
yeah I'm still a bit tired. are you hydrating?? we really pushed it doing that long run without water, it might be part of why you don't feel recovered yet. my run this morning went ok actually, I was able to speed up from my long-run pace.
ReplyDeletewhat did you do the rest of the day Sunday? it helps if you can get in a bit of a walk later in the day.. I ended up going to Georgetown and got a good amount of walking in, I think that helped me.
Geez, I dunno. I'm trying pretty hard to hydrate, but I have to sneak my water in a desk drawer hat work so it's hard to gulp it all day long. But i am def not recovering as quickly as I'd like. I ran on the treadmill yesterday which felt a lot better temperature wise (and also why it was a much faster pace) but then I went for that trail run tonight and I thought I might pass out toward the end. I started feeling light headed and for a bit, I thought my hearing was going?? this cant be good! I made it though! now i'm just sitting around in my lab instead of going home cause i dont wanna get on my bike and collapse. WHY DIS ALL SO HARD?! i am a little discouraged because I thought the hard part about training would be actually getting motivated and keeping to the plan. I didn't anticipate being EXHAUSTED. esp not this early! i am starting to be eager for fall weather!
ReplyDeleteI just put a bunch of my past results up too! It is pretty neat to see them all lined up together like that. I've really quite the range of paces over the years....
